Altit Fort

History:

      The word Altit means this side down and the area around the fort is inhabited. The people of Altit are said to feel right to the white, although not much examine went into the matter. There are more than a few theories about their origin but local home-grown origin holds much value among the people.It is also said that the at this point language Bruchiski was bring here by the white in 47 A.D but there is no link amid burushaski and any other language of today. According to the marvel the first name for Altit village was Hunukushal, meaning the village of Huns. The Huns came from the Huang-Ho valley in China. The name later changed to Broshal; interpret as a village of Bruchiski speaker. They were strength worshipers as Shamanism was in perform and also follow Buddhism and Hinduism.

Restoration:
         The Altit Fort was in great disrepair, but has newly been restored by the Aga khan Trust for Culture Historic Cities Support Programmed and the Government of Norway. It is characterize by small rooms and low portal with beautiful wood carvings. Japan has contribute to the restoration of the nearby old village. Altit Fort is a tourist site which has been open to the public since 2007.
