K2 is the second highest mountain in the
world at 8,611 meters (28,251 ft), after Mount Everest. It issituated on the
border of Baltistan, in theGilgit–Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. It is also
known as Chhogori/Qogir and Mount Godwin.

With a peak elevation of 8,611 m (28,251
feet), K2 is the highest point of the Karakoram Series and the highest point in
Pakistan.
Information:
K2 is known as the Savage Mountain due to
the great difficulty of climb and the second-highest fatality rate among the
eight thou sanders. One in every four people who have attempted the summit have
died trying. It is more complicated and dangerous to reach the peak of K2 from
the Chinese side; thus, it is regularly climbed from the Pakistani side. Unlike
Annapurna, the mountain with the highest fatality-to-summit rate (246 summits,
55 deaths).
