          Nanga Parbat (Naked Mountain) is the 9th highest mountain in the world andthe western attach of the Himalayas. Situated in Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan, Nanga Parbat is one of the eight-thou sanders, with a top elevation of 8,126 meters (26,660 ft). An huge, theatrical peak rising far above its surrounding land, Nanga Parbat has not only proved tough to climb, but also has a distinguished incidence of disaster connected with its climbing.

Nanga Parbat forms the western attach of the Himalayan Range and is the westernmost eight-thousander. It lies just south of the Indus River in the Diamer District of Gilgit–Baltistan in Pakistan.
