It is Named “HEAVEN ON EARTH" because of its impressive beauty, and out of this world view and peaceful atmosphere. We would like to introduce Shangrila Heaven on Earth, which is located in the
Northern Areas of Pakistan. This area has some of the best Tourism attractions in the world, such as K-2(8611.M) 2nd highest peak on earth. There are Deosai Plains the longest, widest and highest plateau in the world, the fast flowing River Indus which starts from Ladakh. Lesser Kachura Lake is situated in Kachura village 20 minutes from Skardu city (nearly 2,500 m or 8,200 feet) town. The lake is known as Shangrila Lake after a route built on its pool in 1983.

Shangrila was named after a book titled Lost Horizon by James Hilton. In the novel, the author narrates a story in which an aero plane crash landed near a riverbed, in the early 1920s. The surviving

passengers came across some Buddhist monks from a nearby temple and sought their help. They were taken to a attractive lamasery filled with a variety of fruits and flowers. The monks looked quite young, although they claimed to be hundreds of year’s old. The peaceful place was called Shangri-la, a Tibetan word meaning "Heaven on earth". In 2015, one of the photos of Shangrila Way out was acknowledged as the grand winner of the Wiki Loves Earth, 2015, after a worldwide contest. Shangrila was recognized in 1983 with the opening of the first Resort Hotel in Skardu, Baltistan. Shangrila Resort Hotel was founded by the late Muhammad Aslam Khan, the first commander of the Northern Scouts of the Pakistan Army. They were taken to a good-looking lamasery filled with a diversity of fruits and flowers. The monks looked quite young, although they claimed to be hundreds of years old. The idyllic place was called Shangrila, a Chinese word meaning
" HEAVEN ON EARTH".
